Is Angel Locsin considering politics?
Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin reacted to showbiz personalities who decided to join the political arena.
It is not a new thing to see actors and actresses becoming public servants. One of the showbiz personalities who held a high position in government was former President Joseph ‘Erap’ Estrada.
Nowadays, it has become a normal thing seeing artistas joining politics. There are even showbiz fans who are encouraging their idols to enter the political arena. It is known to many that there are those who are anticipating Angel Locsin to be a public servant, especially with all her philanthropic activities.
However, for several instances, the actress has reiterated that she has no plan of handling a government office. Based on the article in Inquirer, she was asked to react to showbiz personalities who have decided to run for government office.
“I am not here to judge them because these people really do have the capabilities to help the Filipino people. We should not pull each other down because we are from the same industry,” she said adding that people view artistas in a low level because of their profession.
She said that with the aim to truly help Filipinos, celebrities can be in government. However, she said, “If I would personally vote for them, I don’t know yet.”
Angel is also considering the possible other agenda of celebrities joining politics. “Maybe they agreed to run because they received offers. It’s also a possibility that people approached them with a promise not to worry about campaign expenses, that this will be taken care of. I also think other politicians invited show biz celebs to run because they need known personalities in their political parties,” she added.
On the other hand, Angel Locsin once again stressed that she can’t see herself being a public servant. She admitted that this is not her strength. Although she is active in helping other people, she said that this is in a different level.
