Star for all Season Vilma Santos was asked recently about her friend Sharon Cuneta and here’s what she said about the Megastar.
Vilma and Sharon are two of the well-respected actresses in the Philippine entertainment industry. Their careers have become inspirations to many younger artists in the Philippines.
Despite being two of the top seasoned actresses in the country, there is no rivalry between them. Their friendship has remained strong over the years.
In a recent interview by Inquirer entertainment columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal, Vilma Santos was asked to react to the birthday message that she received from Sharon Cuneta.
The younger actress commended Ate Vi for staying “young” until now. Vilma shared that she was happy about what the Megastar posted.
Then, the Star for all Season mentioned something about her friendship with Sharon Cuneta. “Tuwang-tuwa ako sa mga sinabi ni Shawie. My heartfelt thanks to her. Even if we haven’t seen each other for quite some time, our friendship has remained steadfast,” the actress-turned-politician said.
Meanwhile, when asked about going back to doing movies, Vilma said that she is not confident right now in shooting for a film amid the pandemic. However, she might accept a project after her term as congresswoman in Lips City.
“When my congressional term is over, I will have more time to focus on my almost neglected show biz career. I also want to direct a movie. That’s a longtime dream of mine,” Vilma Santos shared.
She was also asked about the reopening of cinemas as alert level was lowered. Vilma said that although she really loves the feeling of watching movies in cinemas with the big screen, surround sound, and popcorn, but it is not allowed to eat inside anymore, her concern about the ventilation and filtration inside the cinema is still there.
“Cinemas are enclosed spaces, so a lot of safety concerns must be considered. Besides movie screenings with limited audience is not profitable,” she added.
