Over 48k Quarantine Violators Apprehended During Undas, According to PNP

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that more than 48,000 quarantine protocol violators have been apprehended during UNDAS 2021.

The national government announced the closure of all cemeteries in the country starting October 29 – November 4, 2021 to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease during Undas.

Filipinos are expected to stay at home due to closure of all cemeteries during those dates but there are some hard-headed residents who violated the health protocols.

Quarantine Violators

PNP said that they have apprehended more than 48, 000 individuals who violated the quarantine rules and regulations on Monday (November 1, 2021 – All Saints’ Day). The figure has been recorded throughout the entire country.

On November 1 alone, about 10,230 violators have been recorded in Metro Manila. A total of 820, 983have been apprehended throughout the country from October 16 to November 1. 166, 277 are from the National Capital Region.

According to the police force, most violations have been committed amid the nationwide closure of cemeteries from October 29 until November 2. 652,917 violators violated the health protocols by failing to wear of face masks and face shields, and maintaining physical distance.

Quarantine Violators

The authorities caught 101,120 curfew violators and 33, 948 of them were caught outside their homes. 55, 640 have been fined and 55,640 were sanctioned to do community service as their penalty.

The Philippine government reported that a significant drop in recent COVID-19 cases have been recorded. The Department of Health said that the country has 2,790,375 cases with 43,185 active cases, 2,703,914 recoveries, and 43,276 deaths.
