Ogie Diaz shared his side on the end of his role as Aiko Melendez’s manager
Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz broke his silence on the end of his managerial contract with seasoned actress Aiko Melendez.
Ogie and Aiko have been friends for many years already. For several years now, Ogie handled Aiko’s acting career, but just recently, the actress announced that they ended their professional relationship.
However, Aiko stressed that they had remained friends. She also expressed gratitude to the talent manager.
Following Aiko Melendez’s announcement, Ogie Diaz explained in a video, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, that he and the actress parted ways amicably.
“Si Aiko Melendez ay maayos na nagpaalam through message na magco-concentrate siya sa politics at ‘yung mga gusto niyang mangyari sa buhay niya, mga gusto niyang direksyon, tahakin sa politika, magawa niya,” Ogie explained.
With this, he stressed that he is a showbiz manager and not in politics. He further said, “Although ‘yun ang kumbaga 80% ang buhay ni Aiko. Sa 20% lang ‘yung sa movie career niya.”
The talent manager also acknowledged that their contrasting political beliefs might have played a role in the decision. Even so, he stressed that they maintain a mutual respect for one another’s viewpoints.
“Hindi naman po kami para pagtibagin ng kung anong kulay mo sa politika,” he stressed. Ogie also emphasized that the important thing was that there was no conflict when they parted ways, even though Aiko just texted him about this. He said that he was okay to him, and he just let it be.
Ogie further indicated that Melendez may assume independent management of her professional career, with potential collaborative support from her partner, Onemig Bondoc.
“Nandito lang naman ako kapag kailangan ni Aiko ng payo, kung gusto niya meron siyang balikat na iiyakan. Nandito lang naman ako, as always.” Ogie said.
He added that there will be no problem if Aiko decides to transfer to a different management. The talent manager stressed that their friendship is more important.
“Ang importante lang, dapat sa lahat ng pagkakataon, magkukwento tayo ng totoong nangyari at totoong kuwento,” Ogie Diaz stressed.
