Current Situation of Filipino Applicants at Voter Registration Sites During Last Day of Registration
Many Filipino applicants have trooped to Comelec and other registration sites during the last day of voter registration.
On Saturday (October 30, 2021), a lot of aspiring voters have been spotted sitting on the sidewalk or outside the mall a night before the last day of voter registration. Most of them slept at the Comelec’s satellite voter’s registration sites.
Most sites are scheduled to open at 8 am but the applicants lined up as early as Friday evening and Saturday dawn. Some of them are returnees after failing to make it to the cut off during the previous days.
A voter applicant named Gab Frias expressed his frustration after failing to make it to the cut off for several times. He finds it difficult to register because he has still a job to do to earn money.
“Hindi naman po talaga ako nag-buzzer beater for the last minute.
A massive amount of applicants trooped at various malls in Metro Manila to register. Some applicants are pleading the Commission on Elections to extend the registration and cut off numbers.
The netizens expressed their reactions to the current situation of registrants:
