Is Sen. Bato dela Rosa Willing to Undergo Drug Test?

BATO DELA ROSA – The presidential aspirant and Senator revealed his stand on the proposed drug test for the candidates of Election 2022.

Election talks are undeniably taking the main arena now most especially on social media platforms. Many people have openly aired their support for their bets in the upcoming political bid. According to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), there is a total of 97 presidential aspirants, 29 vice-presidential aspirants, 176 senatorial aspirants, and 270 nominees for sectorial representation.

One of the presidential aspirants for next year’s election is Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. The standard-bearer of Aksyon Demokratiko previously expressed his belief that election candidates must undergo a drug test. It sparked reactions from other people including his fellow presidential aspirants.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Bato dela Rosa is willing to undergo a drug test and he believes it should be required for the candidates. The former chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) compared the requirements for security guards and the president.

Sen. dela Rosa raised a question stressing the importance of a drug test to be required to a presidential candidate as the candidate will guard and lead the whole nation if he or she wins. He stressed that a security guard who is guarding only one establishment is required to undergo drug testing.

Based on the report, the Senator said that it is “unfair” if the two (2) positions won’t be treated the same. He also supports medical test requirements for the candidates. According to him, it will determine if the candidate is fit for the position.

Undeniably, the presidential bid of the former PNP Chief came as a surprise to the people. According to him, he was informed about his nomination two (2) hours before the period set by COMELEC for the filing of candidacy closes. His party believes that he can continue the works of the President.
