Suspects Caught on Camera Using Laglag Plaka’ Modus to Rob 2 Drivers

LAGLAG PLAKA MODUS – Two vehicle drivers have expressed their concern after they were victimized by the ‘laglag plaka’ modus.

The police authorities advised the public regarding the notorious “laglag plaka” modus that victimized several vehicle drivers in Muntinlupa and Parañaque. The suspects are using this modus to rob their victims.

The CCTV footage near a fast-food store in Parañaque City caught a man monitoring vehicles at a parking space. The man approached a vehicle driver and told him that he dropped its ‘plate number’.

Another guy near the vehicle quickly opened the passenger’s door and took the bag after the driver opened the door to check its plate. The suspect and his conspirators quickly escaped after performing their illegal activity.

Parañaque Sub-Station 6 Commander P/Maaj. Arnold Sadorra said that the scheme is called “laglag plaka” modus. He said that suspects are using an umbrella to hide the illegal activity from the public’s vision.

“Yung ginagawa ng grupo na ‘yan tyumetiyempo sila ng mga sasakyan tapos sasabinhan ‘yung driver na may nalaglag doon sa likod,” Sadorra said.

The cops spotted around seven suspects in the area. The culprits stole an expensive bag, wallet, cellphone and P20, 000 cash.

After a couple of hours, the same suspects have been spotted at a parking space in Muntinlupa City performing the same modus operandi.

The two victims refused to face the camera to give a statement. The victims also found a P20 bill and some coins beneath their plate numbers. The suspects might have placed the coin to distract the victims while performing the modus.
