Here’s what Chiz Escudero said about the “substitution”
In politics, there is also a substitution and Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero shared his views on this in his recent Instagram post.
The substitution of candidates has been a hot topic in the political arena after Senator Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa filed his certificate of candidacy for president. Speculations surfaced that he will just serve as a placeholder and allegedly Davao City Mayor Sara Dutrerte will be his substitute. Although Dela Rosa stressed that he is willingly running for the highest position, he would gladly step aside if the presidential daughter will decide to run for president.
Because of this, several lawmakers are pushing to pass a bill that will change the “substitution of candidates”. Several politicians have also expressed their opinions about this.
In his recent Instagram post, Chiz Escudero also shared his thoughts. He stressed that a candidate’s main goal is to serve the majority and not a group of people. “Running for public office should be a voluntary endeavor in which the candidate fully understands the role and is willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of the people rather than a few,”
The governor who is running for senator in the 2022 elections also stressed that the filing of COC of a candidate will be nothing if he or she is waiting to be replaced before the deadline of the period of substitution.
“If a candidate files for candidacy and wishes to be replaced by the end of the substitution period on November 15th, the deadline for filing the COC on October 8th would be for nothing,” Chiz Escudero said.
Meanwhile, in a previous social media post, the husband of Kapuso Queen of Creative Collaboration Heart Evangelista shared his thoughts on the controversial interview that Toni Gonzaga with presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos. He said that the actress-host has the prerogative on what or who to feature in her own YouTube channel.
