KUYA KIM – GMA-7 host Kuya Kim Atienza remembered his time as a Manila councilor when he saw his 1999 calendar poster.

Alejandro Ilagan Atienza or better known as Kuya Kim is a renowned tv personality who is known for his wit and knowledge in giving trivia and relevant information to the public. Earlier this month, the weatherman icon announced his move from ABS-CBN to the GMA-7 network.

He was emotional after presenting his last weather and trivia segment on Kapamilya’s flagship newscast TV Patrol. He is now embarking on a new chapter in his tv career after signing with the Kapuso network.

Kuya Kim Atienza recently guested of the recent episode of GMA’s magazine show Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS). In the said episode, he shared a glimpse of his pets and motorcycle collection.

During the interview, the eldest son of Vice Presidential aspirant Lito Atienza revealed that he dreamed of becoming famous and that’s the reason why he tried different jobs. He became a production staff member, reporter, and appeared on a fitness show. Like his dad, he served the government for twelve (12) years.

But even before Kim Atienza became a celebrity, he first became a councilor of the 5th district of Manila. He remembered his time as a politician when his friend sent him his 1999 calendar poster.

The 54-year-old celebrity uploaded the photo on Thursday, October 21 on his Instagram account. His post features a poster of him printed with the words “Maaasahan! Kim Atienza Councilor 5th District, Manila.”

In the caption of the post, he wrote: “#throwbackthursday 1999, as City Councilor of Manila. (Photo was by the late @raymundisaac ) ‘The old is gone and the new one has come.’ 2Cor 5:17.”

“A friend sent me this poster of me as a politico. (Mukha lang akong mabait diyan pero di ako mabait.) I Iook back at those 12 years in politics as learning years. I learned People skills I was able to use in my almost 2 decades in Broadcasting. (A lot of other things, I had to unlearn.)”
