Famous TV personality Kim Atienza revealed that he was the voice behind Ultraman for its Tagalog version and here is the funny story he shared about this stint.

Kuya Kim guested on the recent episode of Kapuso magazine show of Jessica Soho, Kapuso mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS). In the said episode, Kuya Kim shared glimpse of his motorcycle collection and his wide variety of pets.

During the interview, it was revealed that Kim Atienza really dreamed of becoming famous. That was the reason why he tried different jobs in the world of mainstream media.

He also became a reporter, a production staff member, and appeared on aerobics and fitness show. There was a time when he also became a stage performer and because of this, he learned ballet.

One of the past jobs that Kuya Kim had was a dubber. He was the voice behind the character of Ultraman. Dubbed to Tagalog from the Japanese original series, Kuya Kim said that he used his original voice for the main character.

“Sinabi sa akin ng voice director ko, ‘Kuya Kim, you have a very distinct voice. Hindi siya announcer like pero ‘pag narinig mo, hindi mo makakalimutan,’” he shared. He added that there was change when the character was shouting “Ultraman!”

Then, Kim Atienza revealed a story about that dubbing stint. He said that since the production was on a tight budget. He was also the one who gave life to the the character of the antagonist. “Ako si Ultraman, ako rin yung kalaban ni Ultraman,” Kuya Kim said and gave a sample of how he did the villain voice. Jessica Soho laughed at this new information she learned about Kuya Kim.
