Is it true that Noli De Castro will be a Kapatid soon?
Rumor has that veteran news anchor Noli de Castro is set to transfer to TV5 after he ended his stint in ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol for his supposed political stint.
After serving as the Vice President of the Philippines from 2004 to 2010, De Castro went back to doing news and current affairs show in the Kapamilya network. However, before the filing of the certificate of candidacy for the 2022 elections, De Castro bid goodbyeto the primetime news program of ABS-CBN. Following that, he filed his COC as Senator under Manila Mayor Isko Moreno’s party Aksyon Demokratiko.
However, many were surprised when he announced that he is withdrawing his candidacy for next year’s election. In his statement, the veteran broadcaster said that after thinking, he realized that he can serve the public more through his career in broadcasting.
A recent article in PEP stated that rumors surfaced speculating the network transfer of the seasoned news anchor. It was rumored that he will be part of the TV5’s Frontline Pilipinas as the Kapamilya network is not bent on getting him back. Karen Davila replaced De Castro when he left the program. Davila left The World Tonight on ANC to be part of TV Patrol and she was replaced by Pia Gutierrez.
The said primetime news program of the Kapatid network recently bid goodbye to Raffy Tulfo as he is also running for Senator.
Meanwhile, when Noli de Castro announced that he withdraw his senatorial candidacy, the name of Karen Davila trended on social media as many netizens expressed various reactions to this decision of the former Vice President.
