Vice President Robredo Attends Launching of “Bangsamoro for Leni”
VICE PRESIDENT ROBREDO – A group of Muslim women launched “Bangsamoro for Leni” in support to the presidential bid of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo.
The Election 2022 is set to take place less than a year from now and the filing of candidacies is now over. The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) set October 8, 2021 as the deadline for the filing of the Certificates of Candidacy (COCs).
According to COMELEC, there is a total of 97 candidacies filed for the presidential race next year. The poll body admitted that the number of aspirants is quite high and they will screen the candidacies to check if there are nuisance candidates or those who do not really intend to run.
One of the 97 presidential aspirants is Vice Pres. Leni Robredo. She is the nominee of the opposition coalition 1SAMBAYAN for president and she filed her COC as an independent candidate as she is open to a united opposition.
The Vice President previously admitted that she is ready not to run for the presidency if it would be better and she is ready to face the disappointments of some of her supporters. However, according to her, there are non-negotiable factors thus the unity talks for the presidential race among the oppositions was not successful.
When Vice Pres. Robredo announced her presidential bid, a lot of people expressed support to her. Caravans took place and many also affirmed their support to her on social media. The Vice President is overwhelmed by the support to her.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vice President Robredo also recently went to Marawi to attend the launching of “Bangsamoro for Leni” composed by a group of Muslim women who support her presidential bid for the Election 2022. Her visit took place as the Marawi siege marks its 4th anniversary.
The Vice President is one of those who personally came to Marawi and met with the people to help address their needs. She personally talked to the evacuees and as well as the government troops.
