Vice Pres. Leni Robredo’s Senatorial Slate for 2022 Election

ROBREDO’S SENATORIAL SLATE – The senate slate of presidential aspirant and Vice President Leni Robredo unites former political foes in a line-up.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is now back on the voter registration as the period set for the filing of candidacy is over. There is a total of 97 presidential aspirants whose Certificates of Candidacy (COC) would be screened by the poll body.

According to COMELEC, the aspirants’ candidacies would undergo a screening to determine possible nuisance candidates or those who do not really intend to run for the position. Meanwhile, there are presidential aspirants who were really anticipated by the public to run for the presidency.

One of the incumbent politicians who filed her COC for president is Vice Pres. Leni Robredo. She filed her candidacy as an independent candidate and she tapped Senator Kiko Pangilinan to be her vice president.

The senatorial aspirants who are part of Vice Pres. Robredo’s senate slate were previously name. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the line-up includes former political foes.

Former Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV who previously accused former Vice Pres. Jejomar Binay of corruption belong to the Leni-Kiko senate slate. The line-up also includes Sen. Richard Gordon who previously had a conflict with former Sen. Trillanes. The Red Cross head also had negative remarks against Sen. Leila de Lima before. She is also part of the slate.

Based on the report, the following are the senators included in Vice Pres. Robredo’s senatorial slate for the 2022 Election:

  • Former Ifugao Representative Teddy Baguilat

  • Sen. Richard Gordon

  • Sen. Joel Villanueva
  • Sorsogon Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero
  • Former Vice Pres. Jejomar “Jojo” Binay
