Vice Pres. Leni Robredo’s Senatorial Slate Completed
LENI ROBREDO’S SENATORIAL SLATE – Vice President Leni Robredo revealed that her senate slate for the Election 2022 is complete.
One of the incumbent politicians who filed her candidacy for president in the Election 2022 is Vice Pres. Leni Robredo. During the period set by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) for the filing of candidacy, the Vice President filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) as an independent candidate.
Robredo tapped vice presidential aspirant Senator Kiko Pangilinan as her running-mate in the upcoming political bid. The Senator filed his COC bearing the Liberal Party.
Recently, it was confirmed that Vice Pres. Leni Robredo’s senatorial state for the Election 2022 is already complete. According to the Vice President, their slate includes only three (3) aspirants from the Liberal Party.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vice Pres. Leni Robredo’s senatorial slate is composed of “different representatives from many different parties”. Speaking at the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club Manila, the Vice President expressed that if unity among the presidential aspirants is not possible, she has not given up on “unifying our people”.
The Vice President has yet to announce the aspirants belonging to her Senate slate. According to her, she has been visiting many of her contenders and other people in an attempt to unify the opposition but she also stressed that there is a limit to what they can unify as there are factors that are “non-negotiables”.
Vice Pres. Robredo was the nominee of the opposition coalition 1SAMBAYAN. According to her, she knows that the presidential race would be a big challenge for her and her camp because of the lack of resources but she is overwhelmed by the support shown by the public when she announced her bid.
After she filed her COC, several groups including the groups composed of professionals in the same field expressed support for the Vice President.
