Ariella Arida Airs Reactions to Sexual Orientation of Miss Universe PH Bea Gomez
ARIELLA ARIDA – Beauty queen-actress has expressed her reactions to Miss Universe Philippines Bea Gomez for being openly gay.
Miss Universe 2013 3rd runner-up Ariella Arida said Bea Gomez’s sexual orientation had nothing to do with her winning Miss Universe Philippines 2021. The beauty queen-turned-actress is confident that Bea will win the title and crown at the 70th Miss Universe pageant, which will be held in Eliat, Israel in December.
“First of all, I have nothing against her being openly gay. I would say, maybe it’s not the reason why siya yung nanalo, it’s her performance during that night,” Ariella said when asked about Bea at the virtual mediacon of her new film under Viva Films,“ Sarap Mong Patayin. ”
Bea’s ramp and the manner she presented herself, she claims, are proof that she owns that night. Ariella also admires Bea for accurately answering the question during the Q&A segment.
“I would say na talagang with the ramp and the way she presented herself, kanya talaga yung gabing ‘yon. And then, sumagot din siya nang maayos sa Q&A. Kumbaga, from all those rounds, talagang check siya. Siguro talagang nasa top siya ng judges. And it so happened, openly gay siya,” Ariella said.

Miss Universe, she added, is a really open person. Right now, they’re really celebrating any gender. “Sabi ko nga, every time tatanungin ako, sa atin panahon lang yung hinihintay, but we will get there. And now na nga is the time dahil Bea will be the one representing our country,” Ariella said.
Bea, according to Ariella, is quite outspoken about her sexuality. She emphasized that she does not believe that will affect her international performance, particularly at Miss Universe.
“Dahil nga, sa Miss Universe, very open and very understanding as an organization. With her performance, if she would do kagaya nang ginawa niya noong finals night, for sure, mapapansin talaga ‘yan sa Miss Universe,” she continue.
Ariella shares what she likes about Bea during the beauty pageant, “I like the way how she would answer questions. Very chill siya. Makikita mo yung humility and yung personality niya.”
“I know two months na lang yung preparation, and kayang-kaya niya because of the team behind her is very prepared na. They know what they would do for her,” the actress continued.
