2 AFP Member, PNP Member Selling Illegal Firearms in Maguindanao Arrested

Police authorities arrested two (2) members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and one Philippine National Police (PNP) cop for selling illegal firearms.

Aside from the two government employees, two more individuals were detained in a joint police operation and were unable to flee. When they received information about the illicit sale of high weaponry, they conducted an entrapment operation at the suspects’ stronghold in Barangay Tamontaka Datu Odin Sinsuat Maguindanao, according to the report.

One of the operatives posed as a buyer and conducted business with officials. The cops swiftly apprehended them when they turned over the weapon in exchange for money.

The arrested were identified as Police Sergeant Elever Jay Anggot Soverano of the PNP-RCLO-BARMM; SGT Gleen Argones Sangyao, resident of Barangay Poblacion Lebak, Sultan Kudarat; Corporal Reynaldo II Dechavez Dichosa, living in President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat Province, all Philippine Army personnel, civilians Datu Morjan Kunakon Tumindig and Adams Tumindig, both living in Barangay Tamontaka Datu Odin Sinsuat Maguindanao.

Seized from the suspects were a 1 ZIGANA PX-9 cal.9mm pistol PNP Property, 1 M4 Carbine, 1 cal.45 rock island, 1 cal.45 colt, 1 Glock 17 Gen 4 PNP Property 5.56 mm bushmaster rifle, a 5.56 AFP Property Rifle, 1 M4 Carbine, 1 cal.45 rock island, 1 cal.45 colt,, 1 Glock 17 Gen 4 AFP Property, ammunition, magazines, cellphones, P500,000.00 boodle money and ID of the suspects.

The suspects are currently being held in the Datu Odin Sinsuat PNP’s correctional facility. The suspects will be facing multiple charges over illegal activity despite being trusted for serving the country.
