Sara Duterte released this recent statement about the 2022 elections
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte reiterated in her recent social media post that she is not running for President in the 2022 elections.
There had been several groups urging the presidential daughter to run for the highest position in the Philippine government next year. However, several times, the female politician has turned this down.
She already filed her certificate of candidacy for her last term as a Mayor of Davao City. As October 8 is the last day of filing of COC, many supporters of Sara Duterte gathered on the streets to show support for her with a plea that she would run for President.
Her name had been on the top in presidential surveys. However, apparently, this did not make her change her decision. On her Facebook Page, several posts from supporters were shared. The Davao City Mayor showed appreciation to those who are rallying behind her.
However, in her recent post, she stressed that she would want to run for Mayor again. She said that it overwhelming that many people are showing support for her and for her, it is a gift that is one in a million.
Once again, she reiterated this: “I am presenting myself to the Dabawenyos as Mayor for the third and last time in my life as a politician.”
“I call on everyone to work together for an honest, orderly, and credible elections in May 2022,” she added. This statement of Sara Duterte garnered various reactions from netizens. In the comment section of her post, several netizens expressed that they are still hoping that the Davao City Mayor will change her mind while there were those who said that they are respecting her decision.
