Party-List Aims Seat in Congress for 2022 Election to Legalize Cannabis
CANNABIS PARTY-LIST – The first party in the country that pushes the legalization of “Maryjane” for medical purposes to run in the 2022 election.
The Medical Cannabis Party is the first party in Asia to declare a candidacy for the 2022 elections in order to legalize the drug “marijuana,” which is now prohibited. To gain a seat in Congress as a party-list, the MedCann Party filed certificates of nomination and acceptance (CONA) with the Commission on Elections.

They will strive for marijuana to be legalized as a drug in the country, according to Medical Cannabis Party Chairman and first nominee Atty. Henrie Enaje. According to Enaje, the formation of this party is a risky move in the Philippines, which has among of the world’s harshest drug rules and restrictions.
This, on the other hand, only fuels the desire to run for partylist positions. Patients waiting for legal access to cannabis have been deeply disadvantaged and deprived of their rights to health, according to Enaje, due to outmoded drug regulations and a health system.
“We are bound and united together to advance the right of the Filipino people to safely access cannabis medicine in the country. Join us in our advocacy to change the laws to allow legal and safe access to medical cannabis, ” said the MedCann Party.
“We call on all patients, doctors, scientists, human rights defenders, and drug policy advocates to make a stand on the next elections: we should claim our seats in Congress!” Enaje ended.
