Sara Says Sorry To Supporters After Shutting Down Presidential Run

SARA SAYS SORRY TO SUPPORTERS – Despite the massive public clamour, Sara Duterte emphasized that she was not running for President in 2022.

Recently, the daughter of President Duterte filed her certificate of candidacy for a third term as Davao City’s mayor. However, supporters want her to withdraw the candidacy and run for president instead.

But, Sara said that she wants to finish her final term as mayor of Davao. “Gusto ko po sana tapusin muna ang huli kong termino sa Mayor bago ako manungkulan sa ibang position“, she stated.

Meanwhile, critics of the administration said that Sara would likely follow in the footsteps of her father. With the last day of filing the COC, critics say that Sara may withdraw from the Mayoral post and run for president.

In 2015, Duterte did the same when he substituted for Partido Demoktratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) presidential candidate Martin Diño. Still, Sara said that her decision was final.

Furthermore, in a Facebook post yesterday, Sara said that it pained her to not follow the wishes of her peers and colleagues to run for the highest seat in the Philippines.

“Madami sa inyo ang nasasaktan, sumama ang loob at nawalan ng pag-asa pero puwede pa rin tayo magtulungan para sa ating bayan”

Additionally, Sara highlighted that she doesn’t need to become the president for her to help. Instead, she called on her supporters to help others as we help people go about their daily lives.

Now, with the final day of the filing of the COC, eyes are on Sara if she decides to withdraw from the Mayoral post and run for President. What do you think about this? Leave your comments below.
