DUTERTE – Philippine Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte said that he will prepare for his defense for the probe of the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The term of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is set to end in 2022. Recently, the 76-year-old Chief Executive announced his retirement from politics after his term ends next year.

Previously, the President was set to run for vice president in the next election. He was nominated by his party, the PDP-Laban Cusi wing, to run as its bet for the second highest position in the national government. Initially, he expressed that he does not intend to run in the next election as he wanted to retire.

The President expressed that he wants to go home to Davao City after his term as the country’s Chief Executive ends. However, there were persistent calls from his party mates and from other groups and he decided to accept the nomination for VP.

However, recently, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has visibly changed his mind over the matter. He withdrew his bid for vice president next year and announced his retirement from politics.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the 76-year-old President expressed that he will go home to Davao City and prepare his defense to the investigation of the International Criminal Court (ICC).

According to the President, the people does not anymore want him to join politics but to go home to his hometown. He stressed that he will prepare for the probe set by the ICC.

“Hintayin ko kayo. I will prepare for my defensse. ‘Yung ICC na ‘yan. ‘Wag lang kayong magsinungaling. Tutal may record naman,” Pres. Duterte said to ICC.

The President further warned the ICC not to invent and charge on him the deaths due to malaria. He stressed that the Philippines has its own judicial system and the international body never got jurisdiction over his person.

ICC has no jurisdiction to the philippines because phil has already withdraw as a member in ICC. extra judicial killing is not true. our president give instructions to the policemen when they perform their duty not to kill the drug addict only if the drug addict will fight and kill the police. thats the time the policemen will fight back and defend themselves.
