Lani Misalucha Hearing Loss, Singer Shares It Can Be Permanent Now

Iconic singer Lani Misalucha opens up about hearing loss and losing grandson.

LANI MISALUCHA – OPM icon Lani Misalucha reveals that hearing loss can become permanent now and shares pain after losing an “apo”.

In a previous article, veteran singer Lani Misalucha and her husband are deaf in one ear due to bacterial meningitis. They were both rushed to ICU when it happened and hearing loss for a singer like her is definitely devastating. It made her feel helpless and hopeless. They even have to use a hearing in order to hear.

And after battling such a disease, the heartbreak for the singer doesn’t stop there because she also lost a grandson. For the singer, the pain is worse than having acquired the disease they have just surpassed. What she cannot take out of her mind is the image of her daughter carrying her dead son in the hospital bed.

“Yung mga ganun na ang dami nangyayari talaga noong 2020. Ang dami kong kaibigan na nawala rin,” she added.

Now, roughly one year since she and her husband had bacterial meningitis, instead of being in a better state, their condition worsen, their hearing loss. She even believed that it could be permanent now. Their doctor told them that their hearing will be better in time but it didn’t.

For now, in coping with their situation, she did not doubt God and His purpose for them even once. They remained trusting Him and that is what’s keeping them strong. What’s important for them now is that they are able to walk and continue life despite their hearing disability.

She said based on a report from PEP, “Just continue to be grateful because you still have the strength to walk and have this opportunity to work… be grateful, every single day of your life.”
