Fake NBI Agent Arrested in Quezon City After Caught Carrying Unlicensed Firearm
Police authorities arrested a fake agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after being caught carrying an unlicensed firearm in Quezon City.
According to the report of Quezon City Police District (QCPD), the man was spotted strolling around a convenience shop in Quezon City suspiciously with his pistol attached to his body. The suspect was identified as Antonio Medina De Leon, 52, of San Antonio Village, Makati City.

The suspect was apprehended at the 7-eleven convenience shop on the corner of West Avenue and Zamboanga St., Brgy. Nayong Kanluran, in the town, according to PCpl Allan Cruz of Masambong Police Station 2, Quezon City Police District. While inside the establishment, two police officers noticed De Leon acting suspiciously.
According to PCpl Windel Degamo and PCpl Lorenzo Rocha Jr., the suspect is strolling around inside the store with a gun strapped to his waist. Based on their statement, they apprehended him and inspected the document for the weapon.
The suspect, however, has failed to provide any valid documentation. Aside from that, the two police officers revealed that he introduces himself as a member of the National Bureau of Investigation.
Usurpation of Authority and a breach of R.A. 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, were charged against the suspect. The QCPD is still in communication with the NBI to confirm if the arrested suspect is truly part of the agency.
