Is it true that Boy Abunda is going back to the Kapuso network?
Rumor has it that King of Talk Boy Abunda is negotiating with GMA-7 for his alleged network transfer after several years of being a Kapamilya.
To recall, Boy’s hosting career in the Kapuso network. However, in 1999, he transferred to ABS-CBN for the showbiz talk show The Buzz. From that, the King of Talk did various talk shows in the Kapamilya network.
Just recently, rumors surfaced that he is negotiating with the management of GMA-7 regarding his next career move. February of last year, photos surfaced showing that Boy Abunda hosted a dinner for Kapuso executives and this did not sit well with the Kapamilya supporters.
A month after that, the past statement of Tito Boy resurfaced saying that he thinks he will end up in GMA. It was said that the King of Talk said about a decade ago.
In a recent Showbiz Update vlog of comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz with Mama Loi, this is one of the topics that they discussed. Mama Loi shared that it started as a blind item about a show master of Kapamilya network who will transfer to GMA.
However, he said that his friend from the Kapuso network that it is still under negotiation as both parties haven’t agreed yet with a certain contract price. With this, Ogie pointed out that it is really important not to burn bridges as he would hear some artists who would badmouth their previous home networks. He added that he thinks ABS-CBN will allow Boy Abunda to transfer if this is really his decision.
“Ako ha, kasi kung walang kongreto pang plano ang ABS-CBN para kay Kuya Boy, wala pang talk show, hahayaan nilang lumipat si Kuya Boy,” Ogie Diaz said. As of this writing, the King of Talk has not spoken about this matter yet.
