PSG Commander Denies Protecting Former Duterte Adviser, Michael Yang

PSG DENIES PROTECTING YANG – The Presidential Security Group (PSG) denied rumors that they are protecting businessman, Michael Yang in Davao.

Currently, Yang is under investigation for his alleged involvement in Pharmally’s alleged overpricing of medical supplies. During early hearings, Yang failed to attend due to reportedly high blood pressure and other medical issues.

But, with Yang unavailable to present himself in the hearings, people speculated on his whereabouts. Meanwhile, the rumors said the PSG is protecting the businessman in Dusit Hotel, Davao City.

PSG Denies Protecting Yang, Commander Says He Doesn't Know Him

Based on an article from Philstar, PSG Commander Col. Randolph Cabangbang said:

“Personally, I do not know Michael Yang. I do not know his whereabouts, and definitely, no PSG personnel is securing him

Yang has long been a controversial figure in the realm of Philippine politics and business. Aside from his alleged involvement in Pharmally’s P8 billion government deal, he was also linked to a large-scale illegal drug ring.

Two years ago, dismissed police officer Eduardo Acierto claimed yang was part of the illegal drug trade. However, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency quickly denied his allegations.

Now, despite Pharmally execs linking him to the firm’s business, Yang was adamant that he had no involvement with Pharmally. According to Pharmally executive Lincoln, Yang financed Pharmally who merely had P625,000 of paid-up capital.

Furthermore, President Rodrigo Duterte defended the businessman, saying he had been doing business in the Philippines for over two decades.

“I thought we were trying to invite everybody to do business in the Philippines? That’s what happened. The key here is Yang. Yang is known to me, I admit it”, said the President.
