Pampanga Accosted Over 22, 000 Health Protocol Violators Since Start of Pandemic

The police authorities have accosted at least 20,411 health protocol violators at the city of Mabalacat in the province of Pampanga.

The provincial government of Pampanga said that around 20,411 residents have been accosted for violating the quarantine guidelines and health protocols under the general community quarantine with heightened restrictions.

The violators commit health protocol violations through not wearing face masks and face shields, loitering in public places, and defying curfew policy and not abiding in liquor ban rules.

Several residents in the province have expressed their disappointment towards individuals who continue to violate the quarantine protocols, which contributes to the surging cases of the coronavirus disease in the province.

“There are strict rules before you can enter the public market, but once inside, you would see that most vendors do not have face shields and were not wearing their face masks properly,” an Angeles City said.

“When we get modules from the school, we are asked to proceed to the faucet area first to clean our hands, but while queuing, many parents do not have face shields, and their face masks were lowered to their chins, not covering their noses and mouths,” Mabalacat City resident reiterated.

Last weekend, Pampanga province recorded 330 new COVID-19 cases jumping to a total of 5,845 active cases. 1, 999 patients have died and 31,969 have recovered. The province recorded a total 39, 813 cases since the start of pandemic in 2020.

The total COVID-19 cases in the province do not include Angeles because it is politically independent of Pampanga.
