John Riel Casimero Insults Condition of Freddie Roach: “Parang Robot”

John Riel Casimero Says He Don’t Want Freddie Roach to Be His Coach and Insults His Condition

Filipino boxer John Riel Casimero said he does not want a former boxer Freddie Roach to become his coach and insults his condition.

The WBO bantamweight champion shocked the online community anew after insulting veteran boxing trainer Freddie Roach over his condition and qualification to become his coach. Casimero’s statements against the condition of a hall-of-famer boxing trainer drew flak online.

In an interview with Casimero by vlogger RichDon TV, the boxer said that he did not want Roach to be his coach, who became the trainer of 8-division world champion and legend boxer Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. According to Casimero, Roach and he can’t understand each other and he even said that the coach speaks like a robot.

“Siyempre gusto ko Pilipino. Hindi kami magkaka-intindihan nun. Tapos yung pagsasalita pa hindi pa gaanong marinig. Rarrrrrrrr. Parang robot,” Casimero said while laughing.

Casimero also stated that he prefers a coach that is the same age as him in order for him to keep up with his speed. He claimed that if Roach was his trainer, he would be unable to keep up with his pace due to its age.

“Maghanap tayo ng bata kasi bata tayo. Gusto natin mas mabilis pa sa akin. Gusto ko ‘yong trainer ko mas mabilis pa sa akin. Hindi ‘yong ako lang ‘yung mabilis, ‘yong trainer ko mabagal,” said the champion.

It will be recalled that Roach suffers from Parkinson’s disease, which he developed as a boxer, making it difficult for him to communicate. Despite the fact that it is difficult for him to speak and move, he has been awarded numerous championship belts, including Pacquiao.

Casimero’s rival, WBC bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire, was among those who objected to what he stated online. Casimero’s karma, according to Donaire, may have come as a result of his taunting of the boxing coach’s condition.

“That was sad. Freddie is not only a legendary trainer, but also a HUMAN BEING! [You] don’t make fun of someone like that. Not about health, [especially] in this sport we are in, [you] don’t know when karma will come back around.” Donaire said.
