Here’s what Dennis Trillo shared about his experience meeting director Chloe Zhao
Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo has this reaction when Eternals director Chloe Zhao said that she really Googled him when they met during the 2021 Venice International Film Festival.
Dennis is so lucky to be part of the film On The Job 2: The Missing 8 which was directed by Erik Matti. It gave the Philippines the Best Actor Award for John Arcilla. However, it was revealed by the film’s producer Quark Henares that the jury wanted Dennis to win the Best Actor Award as well.
The jury wasn’t able to do that because the people behind the award-giving body did not allow them to have a tie. Nevertheless, that was a wonderful experience for Dennis Trillo as he was able to meet and have the autograph of Parasite director Bong Joon-ho is was the jury president. The Kapuso actor received praises from the judges of the film festival.
Chloe Zhao even revealed to him that she Googled him as she thought that he was a real prisoner just like his character in the film. “’I thought you were a real prisoner. And then I Googled your name and I saw that you’re so handsome and you’re some sort of a matinee idol that also sings,’” Dennis shared what the Chinese director said to him.
Based on the article in GMA Entertainment, the reaction of the actor to this was, “’Sabi ko, ‘Oh my gosh’ talaga, ginoogle ako ni Chloé Zhao.” He added that it was a one-of-a-kind experience for him. It is also a heartwarming moment for him knowing that people from other parts of the globe are appreciating the work of Filipinos.
He is elated that all the efforts and hard work that he has been doing for 20 years of his showbiz career paid off. “At lahat ‘yun talagang worth it dahil doon sa mga na-experience namin doon sa buong festival na ‘yun,” he added.
