Maricel Soriano went through a dark phase in her life
Diamond Star Maricel Soriano opened up about the moment in her life when she was “naligaw ng landas”.
Maricel has been in the entertainment industry since her teenage years. Her acting prowess resonated until now that made her one of the icons in show business in the Philippines. Her ability to sway her audience with the emotions she is portraying earned her the “Diamond Star” moniker.
However, there was a time in her life when her own glow dimmed and the glitter of her star disappeared. Maricel Soriano opened up about the dark past she went through on her YouTube Channel.
She bravely admitted that after her mother Rosalinda Dador Martinez died in 2009, she went to a wrong path. “Hindi ko matanggap. “Nakalimutan kong mag-escape. Ibang escape ang napuntahan ko,” the actress said.
That escape did not bring good in her life because it was “gloomy, masalimuot, madilim.” She was alone back then and what she experienced is not something she desired and that made her unhappy. Maricel said that she regretted going through that path but on the other hand, she is thankful for that experience because it made her stronger. “Naiiyak ako dahil hindi talaga maganda ang pinuntahan ko,” she said.
Maricel Soriano did not elaborate on the details of that dark moment in her life. She shared that when her children Marron and Sebastien worried about her so much, that was the time when she realized that she should fix herself.
The Diamond Star was able to get help from her friends in order for her to bounce back and her determination to get out from the gloomy place in her life was so strong. With that, she was able to go back to her showbiz engagements as well with the help of ABS-CBN chief operating officer for broadcast Cory Vidanes, Dreamscape Entertainment consultant and manager Biboy Arboleda, and the late director Wenn Deramas.
