Class & Work Suspensions In These Areas for Wednesday (Sept 8)

WALANG PASOK – Several local government units have declared class and work suspensions due to the effects of Severe Tropical Storm Jolina.

Over the past few days, Severe Tropical Storm Jolina continues to affect the country’s weather condition. Jolina brings an inclement weather condition in different parts of the country.

The Severe Tropical Storm has been last spotted at the coastal waters of Boac, Marinduque. It has maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometer per hour and gustiness of up to 150 kph moving 15 kph at a west northwestward direction.

Work Suspensions

Joline is expected to move over the Tayabas Bay and make another landfall in eastern Batangas and it is forecast to re-intensify on Wednesday afternoon (September 8, 2021).

Various local government units in the country have declared work and class suspensions for Wednesday in different areas due to the inclement weather condition caused by the tropical cyclone. Government works in the affected areas are currently suspended.

Here is the list of LGUs that announced class suspensions:

  • Antipolo City, Rizal – All levels, public and private
  • Cavite – All levels
  • Quezon province – Classes in all levels and government work
  • Laguna – Classes in all levels and government work
  • San Juan, Metro Manila – All levels, public and private

However, agencies engages in emergency response, medical services and public safety will continue to serve the public. As for private companies, it is up to the decision of employers.
