Veteran actresses Dina Bonnevie and Jaclyn Jose revealed their showbiz staying power

Award-winning thespians Dina Bonnevie and Jaclyn Jose revealed what younger artists should possess in order to stay long in showbiz.

For several decades, the name of Dina and Jaclyn have been prominent on TV and in movies. From the time they were younger until now that they are among the seasoned actresses in the entertainment industry, they have shown superb acting performances.

Based on the article in The Philippine Star, the two actresses shared the not-so-secret way in order to be in the industry for many years. “First and foremost, it’s professionalism,” Dina Bonnevie stressed.

She shared that there was never a time that the director or the production staff got angry at her because she was late. Dina also said that it is important to make sure that she memorizes the script and she gets ready the things she needs before coming to the set.

For Jaclyn Jose, acting is her passion. She said that when she entered the entertainment industy, she was not aiming for stardom or to experience the glitz and glamour of showbiz.

“Gusto kong mag-artista to portray characters and (I aimed for) longevity… gusto kong humaba yung career ko dahil gusto kong umarte. That’s my main reason,” the veteran actress shared.

When it comes to their co-workers on the set, especially those who are behind the camera, both veteran actresses said that they consider them as family.

They also shared how they started their careers in showbiz. For Dina Bonnevie, it was the time when she accompanied her sister who wanted to join a pageant but instead, she was the one who was chosen and won Miss Magnolia first runner-up.

Jaclyn Jose shared that her sister Veronica Jones was the first one who entered the industry. However, when her older sister settled down, it was a sort of automatic thing back then that she was the next in line to work.
