Danica Sotto talked about her mother in her recent post
Celebrity mom Danica Sotto revealed that she used to dislike the “old school” disciplinary ways of her mother veteran actress Dina Bonnevie.
Danica dedicated her recent Instagram post to her mom. She shared a photo of her and Dina with a lengthy caption about how the veteran actress raised them.
The wife of basketball player Mark Pingris described her mom as “strong, smart and beautiful.” She revealed that during her younger years, she used to dislike the disciplinary ways of her mother.
They often had misunderstandings because, for Danica, Dina’s ways of disciplining them were “old school”. “I didn’t like her rules and didn’t understand her way of discipline. Feeling ko she was too strict. Sabi ko, old school na yan,” she said.
Danica Sotto, on the other hand, expressed gratitude to her mother now for treating them that way because she now understands.
“Little did I know that her pieces of advice would one day be my guide. I’m thankful because she has taught us how to be strong,” the eldest daughter of Vic Sotto shared.
Although Dina had shortcomings, Danica said that the lessons that her mother imparted to her are vey useful in how she deals with life now that she is a mother also.
“I’m happy that I’m able to apply everything that she has taught me. Yung disiplina ng isang iba or magulang ay para sa ating mga anak yun,” she said.
Danica Sotto also pointed out that kids may not understand first the disciplinary ways of their parents but eventually everything will make sense. She shared this post to say that she is missing her mother who is now in a lock-in taping.
