Cavite’s Victoria Velasquez Vincent Slays Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Interview Challenge

MISS UNIVERSE PH 2021 – Victoria Velasquez Vincent has claimed the top spot in the Miss Universe Philippines interview challenge.

Last August 8, the initial batch of 100 candidates for Miss Universe Philippines 2021 was trimmed down to the Top 75. The list of the delegates was narrowed down to 50 on August 22.

Only 30 candidates will compete in-person at the pageant’s coronations night on September 25. 27 ladies will be selected by MUP panelists based on their performances in the past challenges and three (3) being selected by fan votes. The winner will succeed Miss U Philippines 2020, Rabiya Mateo, to compete in the Miss U pageant in December.

It was a test of the ladies’ communication skills and ability to show grace under pressure. They introduced themselves and answer three (3) questions.

Vincent was born and raised in New Zealand. She holds a double Master’s degree in Architecture and Heritage Conservation from the University of Auckland.

She relocated to the Philippines this year, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, to try to achieve her dream of becoming a beauty queen, and also for her advocacy to design low-cost and sustainable housing for underprivileged communities.
