Netizens React to Raymond Gutierrez & Manny Pacquiao’s Photo
RAYMOND GUTIERREZ – American-born Filipino TV host Raymond Gutierrez posted a photo of him together with Manny Pacquiao on social media.
On August 1, 2021, tv host Raymond Gutierrez revealed that he is gay. In an interview with Mega Magazine, the son of Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama talked about the struggles he faced coming to terms with his sexuality.
Richard Gutierrez’s twin brother also revealed the reason why he finally decided to come out publicly. He said, “Growing up, it was hard for me to even acknowledge who I am. Like, what is this? I had my brother who was so similar to me but so different in so many ways. But he never had to explain his sexuality, so why should I? And that was my thinking growing up.”
Over the weekend, Raymond Gutierrez uploaded a photo of himself with Pinoy boxing legend Manny Pacquiao on IG. The two celebrities were photographed at Freddy Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Gym in LA, California.
In the photo, Raymond and Pacman posed as if they are about to engage in a fight. It came with a caption, “Heard @mannypacquiao needed a new opponent.”

To the members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, (questioning), intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) movement, however, there’s something wrong with the picture. To recall, the fighting senator sparked outrage when he compared gay people to animals in 2016.
“Kung lalaki sa lalaki, babae sa babae, eh mas masahol pa sa hayop ang tao,” he said then.
Raymond Gutierrez and Manny Pacquiao’s photo elicited a reaction from an LGBTQIA+ member and advocate, Thysz Estrada. She said, “Mond penge naman ng ambag sa laban nating mga LGBTQIA+! Isang suntok para sa SOGIE Equality Bill na pinigilan ni Senator Pacquiao na maipasa sa Senado.”
In a previous article, BB Gandanghari’s selfie with Manny Pacquiao was also criticized by the LGBTQ community. A netizen reminded the actress of his homophobic remark.
