Pacquiao Likely To Get Another Fight This Year Says Promoter

PACQUIAO LIKELY TO GET ANOTHER FIGHT – After his fight against Yordenis Ugas of Cuba, fighting Senator Manny Pacquiao may get into another bout within the year.

Pacman fans are in for a treat this year after MP Promotions President Sean Gibbons assured that Pacquiao won’t stop after the Ugas bout. Currently, Pacquiao is set to face Ugas on August 21 as he eyes to reclaim the WBA “Super” Welterweight Championship.

But, according to Gibbons, Pacquiao’s boxing matches this year is “definitely not over”. Furthermore, Gibbons stated that although he doesn’t look past Pacquiao’s next match, he assured that he would get right back in the ring.

This fight ends, this fight is over, he wins, he’s looking to get right back in that ring, October, November, before he has to move on to the next phase of his career“, said Gibbons.

Originally, Pacquiao’s opponent was supposed to be Errol Spence Jr. Unfortunately, due to a torn retina, he was forced to undergo surgery and cancel the fight against the Pacman.

But, Pacquiao reportedly retained his drive to win, especially against Ugas who holds the WBA belt. Due to inactivity, Pacquiao was stripped of his championship title in what they call a “champion recess”.

Additionally, Gibbons stated that Pacquiao right now, is training harder than he did against his match versus Keith Thurman. “I’m in awe of the guy, because the guy knows his business, he knows his body, he knows the sport.“, he added.

However, looking back at previous interviews, Pacquiao previously hinted that Ugas may be his last match. According to an article from Betway, Pacquiao said:

“Everything is at stake as this might be my last fight. I might as well finish the race with a spectacular performance”
