John Prats talked about how he started his career as a director
Actor-director John Prats revealed that there was a time when felt offended by what Direk Lauren Dyogi told him.
From being a child star, John was able to pave his way to more mature roles along with his dancing stints. Aside from these stints in front of the camera, he is also doing the behind-the-scenes job and it is being a director.
Based on the article in Abante, when the job of a director was first offered to him, John Prats admitted that he felt offended.
He said that at that time, he has no contract with ABS-CBN and Direk Lauren told him, “Gusto mo bang magdirek?” John said questioned why the director asked him that with the negative thought that he is not worth being an actor anymore.
“I took it in a wrong understanding, parang ganun ‘yung nangyari sa akin. Parang medyo na-offend ako kay Direk Lauren,” he admitted.
At first, he did not take the offer seriously until he realized that he is ready to embrace the new challenge in his career. When he finally said yes to the offer, Direk Lauren introduced him to Direk Arnel Natividad who was handling Tonight With Boy Abunda.
John Prats learned the ins and outs of directing. His first project was the music video of Moira dela Torre for the hit song Malaya. From that, he was able to direct the Tagpuan concert of the singer. Currently, the actor-director is directing the Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime while still acting in Ang Probinsyano.
