Manila Cash Aid: Mayor Isko Moreno Reveals Date of Release

Update on Manila Cash Aid by Mayor Isko Moreno

MANILA CASH AID – Manila Mayor Isko Moreno spoke on the date of the release of the cash assistance for Manila residents amid the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

To prevent the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19 in the Philippines, the national government agreed to place the whole of Metro Manila under the Enhanced Community Quarantine. More commonly called as the ECQ, it is the strictest among the four (4) quarantine measures.

The ECQ in Metro Manila is started yesterday until August 20, 2021. Many businesses are not allowed to operate while the essential businesses continue their operation but there are restrictions. Some implemented shortened working hours while others reduced their workforce.

Amid the ECQ, the essential workers are allowed to leave their houses. The vaccination is also ongoing and those who are set to receive their COVID-19 vaccine may go out but must present proof. There are strict checkpoint controls.

Many companies are close amid the ECQ and several workers won’t be receiving salaries amid no business operations. Unfortunately, it is a struggle on several households as many families could hardly make ends meet.

To ease the burden on the part of the residents most especially the breadwinners of their families who rely on their daily salary, the national government assured to give cash assistance to the qualified residents. Each recipient may get P1,000.00 with a maximum of P4,000.00 per household.
