Patient Positive with COVID-19 Escape Facility to Attend Wake in Koronadal City
The local authorities of Koronadal City seized a woman patient who was found positive with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) after escaping from the isolation facility.
A COVID-19 positive lady escaped from an isolation institution in Metro Manila, according to Remate’s report. According to the report, she was able to board a plane and fly home to Mindanao’s Koronadal to attend a relative’s wake.

The patient flew from Quezon City to Bulacan and took a commercial flight to Koronadal this week, according to Dr. Edito Vego, acting head of the City Health Office (CHO) in Koronadal City. According to Vego, the patient tested positive for COVID-19 but was still able to go out of isolation.
“The patient previously tested positive for COVID-19 but escaped from isolation and returned home to attend the wake of a deceased family member,” Vego said in an interview with Bombo Radyo.
The female patient, according to Vego, was recognized through the flight manifest. According to Vego, the patient allegedly boarded a private van from the airport and even went to a hill at their home.
So far, the patient has been located and is being held in isolation. The airline has been alerted as well. All people who came into contact with the fleeing patient are being tracked down as well.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH), UP-Philippine Genome Center, UP-National Institute for Health reported today that there are new 119 cases of Delta variant identified in the country. There are also 125 additional Alpha variant 94 Beta variant cases and 11 P.3 variant cases.
So far, UP-PGC has sequenced a total of 10,473 samples. In Delta cases, 93 are local cases and 20 are ROFs while others are still being verified. The total number of Delta variants identified in 17 cities and municipalities in NCR has now reached 450.
