NTF Probes Vaccination Sites in NCR Fake News and People Behind it
The National Task Force (NTF) is now investigating the fake news against vaccination sites in National Capital Region (NCR) and the people behind it.
The NTF is currently investigating the unscrupulous individuals that are allegedly planning to sabotage malls and vaccination sites. The Interior and Local Government Department (DILG) also offers assistance to the probe.
Deputy Chief Implementer of the National Action Plan Against COVID-19 Secretary Vince Dizon said during the Laging Handa public briefing that they learned that buses and vans full of people flooded the malls and vaccination sites of Las Pinas, Antipolo, and Manila were victims of fake news.
According to him, the criminals intend to hinder the government’s efforts by setting it up the day before the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital (NCR). According to Dizon, this is also a public service announcement since they, Sec. Carlito Galvez, have received an unsubstantiated report and needs to investigate people who are spreading false information.
“Have mercy on the country and the Filipino people,” Dizon added, appealing to those who are generating disturbance. Sec. Dizon, on the other hand, warned the public not to believe the bogus news spread by unscrupulous individuals.
He emphasized that all they want is chaos, and he predicts that the government’s immunization will be ineffective. He confirmed that someone spread false information about “walang bakuna, walang ayuda,” and that people flocked to several locations across the NCR.
“Sana po, huwag tayong maniniwala sa mga ganitong fake news,” Dizon pleaded.
And for other people, he said that the only purpose is to cause trouble, Dizon’s request “huwag naman sana. hirap na po ang ating mga kababayan ngayon, hirap na hirap na po ang bansa dito sa threat ng Delta variant. Sana naman, huwag namang gagawin iyon.”
