Carlo Katigbak was asked about former Kapamilya stars who transferred to other networks
ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak has this statement when he was asked about former Kapamilya stars with unfinished projects.
Several talents who were formerly under Star Magic, the talent management firm of the Kapamilya network, transferred to other networks such as Bea Alonzo, Pokwang, Beauty Gonzalez who are now contract stars of GMA-7, and Maja Salvador who is now doing a TV series on TV5.
It is known to many showbiz fans that the network transfer of Bea was the most controversial among the aforementioned celebrities. One of the issues being thrown at her was that she left without finishing her soap opera project.
On the other hand, Bea stressed in an interview that she talked to the bosses of the Kapamilya network regarding her transfer and that she has their blessings. This was the answer to the rumors that she just left without discussing her decision with the executives of her former network.
It was not reported if those other former ABS-CBN talents also had unfinished projects. On July 29, ABS-CBN Corp. held the annual meeting led by chair Mark Lopez, CEO Carlo Katigbak, based on the report posted on the Twitter account of Inquirer Business.
One of the questions that Katigbak answered was about the rumor that former Kapamilya stars who left with “unfinished projects” are banned from returning again.
His answer was, “We still keep the hope we will one day be able to take back the people we were forced to let go off but who still want to work with ABS-CBN.”
When asked about building up new talents versus big stars, Carlo Katigbak said that their big stars have made major sacrifices to stay with them. “We are working very hard to make sure they are given the opportunities to secure the best roles in everything we produce,” he added.
