ANGEL LOCSIN – Kapamilya actress and philanthropist Angel Locsin shares her reasons why she’s always been vocal about national issues.
Among the most loved celebrities in the country is Angel Locsin who is admired not just for her talent but also for her big heart to help the people in times of any unfortunate events. She’s always spotted giving and helping whenever there’s a typhoon, flooding, and among others, and in this time of the pandemic, people loved her even more for her compassion towards the poor and the medical frontliners.
Moreover, she’s one of those who led a protest when ABS-CBN was on the verge of shutting because her heart goes out to the employees who will lose their job if the network shuts down. But still, despite their fight, they still lost the franchise to operate and cause major job loss. And in this dark time of her network, she promised in a previous article not to leave.
Just as how brave she was in going through uncertainties to help is just as she is when it comes to speaking up her mind, most especially to issues concerning our country. In the podcast of Matteo Guidicelli, she shared that being vocal is out of her fear. She fears something which is why she’s speaking. She believes that the person who is fearless is someone who can ignore everything.
“Kung takot ka na, kunyari nagsasalita ako about certain issues, kaya ka nagsasalita doon kasi may takot ka na, may ayaw kang mangyari, kaya ka nagsasalita. Kasi kung hindi ka naman takot, bakit ka magsasalita?” she said. She is being vocal because she is fighting for something.
She admitted that she’s not like this before. She shared that she’d even stay in her car than be in a dressing room because she feels so shy but the turning point of this all is because of her experiences and that she matured. She has seen what’s right and wrong and she came to a point where she just felt the urge to speak.
She said, “Kailangan mo nang magsalita, di ba, hindi naman para umapak ng ibang tao, kundi para mas maging totoo ka lang sa sarili mo. Yun lang naman yun, e.”
