Filipino People Warned by FDA Against Unregistered & Fake Body Oil Products
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned the public against the usage of unregistered and fake body oil products.
On Thursday (July 22, 2021), FDA has released the list of counterfeit and unregistered oil products. The agency warned the public that using such products may pose risk and harm to the body’s health.
The agency confirmed that the products were unregistered and did not undergo through legal process with the help of Post Marketing Surveillance. The bureau also found out that the brands have no Certificate of Product Registration.
According to Republic Act No. 9711 or the Food and Administration Act of 2009, the production, selling, distribution, promotion and sponsorship of the illegal products are strictly prohibited for having no proper authorization from the authorities.
FDA also warned the business establishments to stop selling the illegal products without permit. Companies that will violate the policy would face corresponding sanctions and penalties.
The government agency also asked the local government units and Law Enforcement Agencies to prevent the distribution of counterfeit and unregistered products under their area of jurisdiction.
