According to a report from GMA News, boxes of the said products were seized in Lucena in Quezon, Cavite, Batangas and Manila.

The bureau conducted the raid in the said areas with a search warrant following a complaint from the manufacturer of the original product.

The fake insecticide sprays had the wrong spelling for the brand, was well as the absence of the Food and Drug Administration number.

The bureau also warned consumers that despite saving money from buying fake products, they may compromise their health upon doing so.

Jasmine Chua, assistant manager at the Tacloban Worldsun Trading said that the fake insecticide sprays may cost consumers more in the long run, based on the report.

“Ang chemical contents po nito ay hindi po aprubado ng FDA at sobrang napaka, kumbaga, lubhang mapanganib sa kalusugan ng tao,”

“Imbes na makatipid po sila, malaki po ang magagastos nila sa hospitalization,”

The investigation bureau said that it will ask the court to issue an order for the destruction of the fake insecticide sprays, adding that they will file a case of violation of trademark infringement against those responsible for the said items.
