Father, Son Criticized for Farming Without “Kalabaw” Received Help from Tulfo
Veteran journalist Raffy Tulfo helped a father and son who were being criticized for farming even without water buffalo (kalabaw).
A farmer from Leyte’s Barangay Danus contacted Raffy Tulfo’s program “Wanted sa Radyo” to seek assistance from the veteran journalist. Ismael Malabat, the farmer father, simply asked for a water buffalo because they didn’t have any and didn’t plough with them.
Some people are believed to make fun of them because his son is the one pulling the plower, which is supposed to be a water buffalo’s task. As a result, the father sends a video to Raffy Tulfo asking if he could give him and his son a water buffalo to use on their property.

As a result, Tulfo’s heart was strongly moved by Tatay Ismael’s plight. The veteran broadcaster claimed that it was only then that he witnessed the work of a water buffalo on a farm.
So, aside from the Php38,000 spent on the buffalo, Tatay Ismael has already saved Php100,000 for his family’s other necessities. Tulfo also considered sending one of their employees to the farmer’s location to assess the problem.
They noticed the perforated roof and lack of equipment in the house when he viewed it on the video call. Tulfo will also give household products and repair Tatay Ismael’s home as a result of this.
