Farm Owner in Quezon Killed After Shot by 2 Hitmen Applying for Farm Works
FARM OWNER SHOT BY HITMEN – the two pretended as applicants for farm works and shot the victim to death after he approached them.
Last night, a farm owner in Infanta, Quezon, was fatally shot by one of two men who were apparently looking for a job on his property. Salvador Rector Lorella, 38, a resident of Barangay Magsaysay, was the victim, according to the police.
Two unnamed assailants arrived at the victim’s house around 7:40 p.m., according to Infanta Police. The suspects track down Lorella and inform his wife that they would work on the couple’s farm as a mower, or “mananabas.”
When the victim emerged, however, he was met with bullets, based on the police report. The culprits escaped shortly after shooting the victim, while Lorella was brought to the hospital.
However, he was declared dead-on-arrival by the doctor. Authorities are still hunting for the two suspects and are actively probing the reason for the crime.
Meanwhile, a man sleeping on a Quezon City footbridge was shot and is in critical condition. The victim apparently made living selling scraps and slept on the footbridge most nights, especially when it rained heavily.
He was shot while the assailant was still on the loose and unidentified. Residents who lived nearby reported the gunshot because the HQ was stationed near the footbridge, which resulted in a quick reaction.
