This is following the alleged attacks and fake news against him and his channel. In his complaint, he filed a cyber libel against the owners of YouTube channels “Starlet” and “Latest Chika”. In his statement, he accused them of violating Section 4(c)(4) of Republic Act (RA) No. 10175, the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, in relation to Article 355 of the Revised Penal Code.

He also filed charges against Google Philippines country manager Bernadette Nacario for allegedly violating Section 20(b)(1) and Section 30(j) of RA 10175. As per the article from Inquirer, he expressed, “The contents of the videos are all false, have no factual basis, and are intended to destroy or damage my reputation as a Senator, public servant, and a husband to one of the most beloved celebrities in the Philippines, my wife Sharon. More importantly, the libelous videos are meant to destroy the family.”

The senator also believed that the videos containing false information can also damage his relationship with his children. Google’s country manager was included in his complaint because it is her duty to “ensure that the employees exercise the necessary diligence in ascertaining the existence of defamatory videos and the removal of such in order to maintain the Community Guidelines and its Policy, Safety, and Copyright Policies.”

One of the videos of the Youtube channels accordingly contains news about him physically abusing his wife and that they have filed physical injuries against him which is not true. His wife Megastar Sharon Cuneta has denied this news but despite the clarification made, the said videos were not yet taken down as per the report.
