What’s the effect of the transfer of former Kapamilya stars to the Kapatid network?
This is one of the effects of the decision of some former Kapamilya stars to TV5 or the Kapatid network.
Without the franchise, ABS-CBN’s TV program is not as it was before. Although the network still continues to do TV shows, mostly it is for digital platforms.
Amid the denied franchise and the limited opportunity due to the pandemic, there were those who accepted the offers from other networks.
After the network transfer of some former Kapamilya stars to TV5, the Kapatid network is gaining ground when it comes to the ratings game, based on the article in The Philippine Star.
“Iba-iba ang mapapanood mo dito. Iba-ibang viewers ang mag-e-enjoy dito. Iba-iba rin ang mga artista at content creator na makikita mo dito. Our collaborations with great artists and creative minds in the industry allow us to offer something fresh, new, and unexpected,” Chief Operating Officer of Media5 Dino Laurena said.
Last year, the Kapatid network strengthened its entertainment contests and several of its shows featured actors and actresses from ABS-CBN.
Recent Neilsen ratings that was released showed that from a 5.3 audience share for the weekday primetime block in January it became 12.9 as of the end of June. The weekend primetime has become 6.9 from a 4.2 audience share.
The Kapatid network has registered an 89 percent growth in total viewership. Based on the article, the viewership in the primetime slot in the Visayas also went up to 150 percent while in Mindanao is 134 percent.
“We will further expand our DTT network in North and Central Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao by the end of July, ensuring truly nationwide coverage, so that Filipinos all over the country can enjoy watching TV5,” Kapatid network’s president and Chief Executive Officer Robert Galang said.
