Over 250,000 Moderna Vaccines Touchdown At NAIA Terminal 3

MODERNA VACCINES IN PHILIPPINES – Over 250,000 doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines have arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on July 15, 2021.

As the Philippines works toward its goal of herd immunity the arrival of much-needed vaccine doses bring hope to the country. According to a report from GMA, a Singapore Airlines flight carried 250,800 doses of the vaccine.

The vaccines arrived at around 1:00 p.m. with the government precuring the doses in coordination with the private sector led by International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI).

Over 250,000 Moderna Vaccines Arrive In Philippines

Currently, this is the second set of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines that had been delivered to the Philippines. Initially, a shipment of Moderna vaccines arrived in the Philippines late June that contained 249,600 doses of the vaccine.

As of writing, the Philippines had already used 14 million COVID-19 doses. Along with this, at least four million had already been fully inoculated against the virus using two doses.

The government plans to inoculate 70% of the population to achieve herd immunity. Furthermore, vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said the country aims to achieve its goal by the end of 2021.

The Philippines, so far, has reported 1,485,457 COVID-19 cases. Of that number, 26,232 had succumbed to the disease while 1,414,817 had recovered.
