Johnny Manahan is officially working with GMA Artist Center now
Former Star Magic head Johnny Manahan is now officially the consultant of GMA Artist Center, the talent management firm of the Kapuso network.
For many years of working with Star Magic, Mr. M helped a lot of aspiring artists to make their own names in the industry. Many of them are now considered among the biggest stars in show business.
After the short stint of Mr. M, known as a “star-maker” in the Philippine entertainment industry, with Sunday Noontime Live produced by Brightlight Productions on TV5, rumors started to circulate that he will be transferring to GMA-7.
It is known to he is close to Kapuso host Willie Revillame and speculations surfaced that they will be working together. Rumors also circulated that Mr. M played a major role in John Lloyd Cruz’s transfer to the Kapuso network.
Last month, there were speculations that Mariole Alberto, fellow former Star Magic executive of Johnny Manahan, will also be transferring to GMA Artist Center. Just recently, the Kapuso network has announced that Mr. M is now a consultant of the Kapuso talent management company.
Based on the article in PEP, Mariole Alberto cannot transfer yet because the non-compete agreement between her and ABS-CBN is still effective.
Investopedia.com explains a “non-compete agreement” as a legal agreement or clause in a contract specifying that an employee must not enter into competition with an employer after the employment period is over. These agreements also prohibit the employee from revealing proprietary information or secrets to any other parties during or after employment.”
