Janella Salvador opens up about her relationship with her mom Jenine Desiderio
Actress-singer Janella Salvador revealed the reason behind the past conflict she had with her mother Jenine Desiderio.
It is known to showbiz fans that Janella and Jenine had misunderstandings. However, that was a thing in the past now, they were able to patch things up and became even closer.
Based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon, the young celebrity mom shared that she became much closer to her own mother during her pregnancy and now that she has a child.
“Ever since I became a mom now, actually I have appreciated her more. And even if minsan ‘di pa rin kami magkasundo. It’s more stable now, our relationship,” Janella Salvador said about Jenine Desiderio.
Then, she revealed how they drifted away from each other in the past. The actress-singer said that their relationship started to be unstable when she entered showbiz when she was 14 years old.
Since Janella was young, she wanted to explore and have fun and as a mother, Jenine was too concerned. “She was scared of me letting go. I’m her only girl. So she was having a hard time accepting that,” the young celebrity mom said. Janella Salvador said that she did not accept in a good way the strictness that her mom applied to her.
“So when she started meeting different people, parang ‘Oh some people do this pala. They have different lives pala. They party, ganyan-ganyan.’ I never went through a party phase just to be clear. I just wanted to hang out with friends and have fun. Medyo naging strict ‘yung mom ko dati. It would reach to a point na tatakas ako. So she got mad,” she said.
Now, Janella realized that no matter how independent a teenager can be, parents would always play a vital role.
