COVID-19 Vaccines Sold Illegally Unfit For Use, According to FDA
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned the public regarding COVID-19 vaccines sold illegally, were unfit for use.
On Thursday (July 8, 2021), the Food and Drug Administration Director General Eric Domingo said that the illegally sold COVID-19 jabs are unfit for use although some of them were found to be genuine.
Domingo explained that alleged vendors might failed to handle or kept the vaccines at right temperature. Some packaging had been opened and a video shows the vaccines placed in a cooler.
“Hindi na maaaring gamitin ‘yan… Hindi mo na kasi alam ‘yung integrity ng cold chain, ng pagha-handle niyan at ‘pag ganyang merong doubt, hindi na po natin pinapayagang gamitin sa tao ang ganyan po na mga bakuna,” Domingo said.
The FDA chief said that the authorities are already tracking the source of illegally sold vaccines. The officials would also like to found out where the vaccines have been taken from.
Domingo also called for public’s help to immediately report any suspected COVID-19 vaccine vendors. The Philippine government strictly prohibits to sell vaccines since FDA did not yet issue any authorization.
